Why do people travel abroad without travel insurance cover?
Thousands of people travel without travel insurance cover and I can not understad why?- because they are senseless
- I wonder how fffrrreeeddd would feel if touch wood he ever died on holiday and his next of kin had to pay the thousands of pounds it costs to get them home! If people would just read their policies properly before travelling and make sure the cover is adequate for what they may need then they would not have a problem claiming - yes the insurance companies do need to take a while and check everything out but funnily enough they can`t just pay out to everyone who says they have lost something or been in an accident there are some dishonest people out there. Sorry for ranting and no I don`t work for an insurance company

- i have travelled with out travel insurance, . but it was a accident i was so busy and it was a rush flight, that i did not realise about it untill i was sitting in the airport looking at some travel brochures, . not something i do regularly

Read 'batty''s answer - she is a hundred percent correct - if you actually have insurance then make a claim - it is like pulling teeth to get any money back from the insurance company. They will be such a pain to deal with because they ume you are cheating - if you get insurance, it is likely that you are not covered for what happens to you. Also, if you book your flights on Visa or thru some travel agents - they include 'free' travel insurance. Also for lost bags or crashed airplanes, the airlines cover minimal amounts they are required by law
