does travel insurance cover swine flu?
- Actually it depends on the insurer. One company for example, will not cover you if you catch swine flu while traveling because there is already a warning about it. Basically they are saying, "the world health org told you not to travel. If you decide to go anyway, thats up to you, but do not expect us to cover you" Other travel med insurance companies WILL cover you if you get sick, regardless of the cause. But this is in the case of Travel insurance. Trip insurance is different. Whereas travel insurance covers your HEALTH, trip insurance protects your financial investment in the trip. therefore, if you got sick and had to cancel, your trip insurance WOULD cover that, and if you had a policy with cancel for any reason coverage, your plan would reimburse you if you decided not to travel just cause you were scared to go to your destination. Many insurance companies will SAY they cover outside your home country, but they will not say HOW MUCH. My policy covers me outside my country, but only 20% of what it covers while I am in the USA, You just have to check the fine print, and deal with a reputabel agent who will be honest with you and not just try to sell you a policy. Personally, I would NEVER travel without adequate medical insurance, and it is actually quite affordable. Especially when you weigh it against the medical bills you could incur under America's skyrocketing health care costs
- Yes, you need to buy travel medical insurance or double check your existing insurance to see if you are covered out of your country. Most Additional coverage items are not worth the price. Travel medical insurance only covers non preexisting conditions. That means if you have swine flu at home but go on your trip anyway, insurance doesn't cover it. But if you catch swine flu on the trip it is covered. Cancellation insurance covers the first case, where you get sick and can cancel. But it is usually very limited and too expensive for me to ever bother with

- I would like to suggest you get as much information as you could before taking action, here insuranceidea.info / free - insurance.htm is a good place for that
- N1H1 flu is covered by medical insurance. Has nothing to do with flying. Peace
